You might have played with some virtual machine solutions out there–many of which are free. The two more popular free ones that come to mind are Microsoft’s Virtual PC and VMware Player. Of course, VMware Player will only work if you have an existing VMware virtual machine built. Microsoft’s Virtual PC will let you build a virtual machine from scratch, but for many that is part of the problem. You have to build it from scratch, which includes loading the operating system. That can take a pretty good investment of time. The good news is there is a third option out there–Prayaya v3.
Where are you going to store your virtual desktop?
The nice thing about Prayaya v3 is that it gives you a number of options when it comes to storing your new virtual machine. A prayaya v3 virtual machine can be stored on a USB flash drive, USB hard drive, or other portable usb 2.0 storage device like an iPod or mobile phone in addition to your Windows XP desktop or laptop. Storing your Prayaya v3 virtual machine on a USB flash drive does have its pros and cons. Probably the most obvious pro is that your virtual machine becomes extremely portable. You can literally just put it in your pocket. The con is that a USB flash drive may be limited in storage, and theperformance may not be great due to the data transfer rates of some USB flash drives.
At a minimum, you need to have a storage capacity of 128 MB, but the company recommends using 2 GB . If you do use a USB device to store your virtual machines, it will be important that the Windows host machine is checked to ensure that the PC isn’t optimized for “safe removalâ€
